Summary

In March 2024 I paid Takanori Inoue of Sorcery.jp ¥1,355,500 (AUD $14,631.91) by direct international bank transfer for a body kit. I was quoted a 2–2.5 month production time. Sixteen months on, I have received no product, no meaningful update, and no refund. Communication dropped to sporadic, vague "still in production" replies — while, based on a follow-up enquiry I made under a different name in early 2025, Sorcery.jp appeared to still be actively marketing and taking on new orders.

I'm not the only one reporting this. See Other reported cases below for links to a forum-organised class action effort involving multiple buyers.

Timeline of my order

5 March 2024
Initial enquiry sent about body kit options. Received a prompt reply with pricing for different configurations.
5–19 March 2024
Numerous emails back and forth with Inoue to finalise the exact kit specification and pricing.
19 March 2024
Paid in full via direct international bank transfer — ¥1,355,500 (AUD $14,631.91) — to the account details below.
11 April 2024
Inoue advised that production time is normally around 2 to 2.5 months.
22 April 2024
Followed up and received the reply quoted below, giving a delivery window of late June–early July.
"Hi, Mr. Corey Brett,
Thank you for your Email.
I checked the factory(person in charge).
delivery date >> Late Jun - Early July
It is now at work, Please wait.
Best Regards,
Inoue" — Email reply, 22 April 2024
The stated delivery window passed with no product and no further proactive update.
Mid–late 2024
Repeatedly followed up over several months. Around 90% of my emails were ignored outright. When replies did come — every few months — they consistently claimed the order was still "in production" and asked for more time, with no evidence offered.
Early 2025
I submitted a fresh, unrelated order enquiry through my partner's account to see whether Sorcery.jp was still trading normally. It was answered promptly and normally, as if to a new customer — indicating the business was continuing to solicit and accept new orders and payments while my order from a year earlier remained undelivered and unrefunded.
Today
No product. No refund. No substantive response.

Other reported cases

I'm not aware of any way to independently confirm every detail in these reports, but multiple other buyers have described strikingly similar experiences with Sorcery.jp / Takanori Inoue in public forum threads, including an effort to coordinate a class action and pursue the matter with Japanese authorities:
